Dear Frank-
My wife found my PostSecret that you put up this Sunday and I was a little scared. She cried and told me it was the sweetest thing she has ever been a part of.
I sent it before we got married.
The young woman I speak of on the cards and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary last October and have an amazing 4-year-old that completes our beautiful family.
PS. . . I’m no longer scared that she knows all my secrets.

I’m trying to do too many things at once. And then I look up and the year is half over. I keep task lists – but tasks get deferred or ignored because I can’t possibly do everything.
One of the items that kept sliding down my task list was to go into Portland and photograph the Farmers Market and the Saturday Market. This wasn’t just because I like to do this every year – it was also because I needed to learn how to use my new Nikon Z8 in the field. The Z8 is very complicated. I needed to be able to shoot very quickly at OCF. And then, all of a sudden, OCF is next week!
A last second mad dash is all that’s left.

The mood is muted, nonetheless we went to see the local fireworks last night. I think in its way, maintaining those connections and traditions is important.
It was a beautiful evening, cooler and clearer than expected. The people around us were quiet and reflective. And the show itself was spectacular.
Then I began to feel unwell and nauseas. I crumpled to the ground in a faint and couldn’t breathe. My face was flushed and my skin cold and clammy. My thoughts raced.
Fortunately it was only heat exhaustion and fortunately there was water at hand. We went home early and I couldn’t wait to get into the shower and wash it all off. I slept for 9 hours.
Today the air is still filled with smoke. I don’t know if people actually had a good time or if they were keeping up the appearance of having a good time.
I mean we all have decisions to make now.

Sometime in the last couple of months, someone posted a link to a site that had interesting looking shirts made of linen, for lower prices than most places charge. I forgot to bookmark it. Can anyone point me to it? or to something else that fits that description, even if you didn't see it here?
Edited to add: A the shirts were less expensive than I expected, which is a large part of why I'm interested. Those may have been sale prices, I don't remember.
Also, the were made of either linen or a linen blend, not "line".

what is time anyway?
i was looking at posts i had made about ncis: new orleans to torture myself for no good reason & realized that the final episode was in 2021. four freakin' years ago!
if it was not canceled this year would have been season number 11 for them. but despite my disappointment, 7 seasons is pretty good for a tv show. especially one staring scott bakula.
confession time; since the show filmed in new orleans* whenever there was a national weather report during the filming season (july to march, i think) i would look at the new orleans area to see what the weather was like. yes, i realize that i most likely do need professional help.
*other ncis shows filmed in a studio in los angeles & just did outdoor shots on location.

That's okay, we can still help each other! You just throw some of your cards for my target practice, and I'll swap them out with new ones when I'm done. Everybody wins! And then we can all eat some meat together.
Rules:
- You can play up to four cards and one crayon per weekly round. You'll lose these cards & crayons.
- Ochette will replace the cards with other cards of the same deck but with a different number.
- Ochette will replace your crayon with another of a different color.
- Please list the card names and crayon color so I can swap them easily.
- There's no special criteria that'll decide the replacements. Everything's going to be randomized. You're only guaranteed to not get the same exact things in return.
- If you have a reward coupon that guarantees you more cards from answering a round, you can use it to get more plays.

On a lighter note…
The rock roses are doing well. Nice to see their cheery faces. I’ve been editing my photos with various apps and enjoying the effects.
In challenging times, we do what we can. Mindfulness is the key. Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Find a worthwhile cause to focus on or advocate for and put your heart into it.
